So there is practically no listening port for controlled feed that I can forward to client on iVMS, other than let the client connect directly to the cameras. I've checked TCP/UDP ports, and there is only one port 8000 for storage server, and 554 for Streaming server. Or, another option is to use Citrix or something similar to publish the iVMS client app through an encrypted connection, similar to a VPN, where it is configured to access the recorders. If the VPN device is sophisticated enough, you can restrict the connection to only the IP addresses of the recorders on your network, and only to use the TCP/UDP ports used by the iVMS software. Hikvision has proven to be so hackable and weak on cyber security, it'd be the best way to insure security of the connection by a 3rd party. But I have no idea to send the feed to outside world without exposing our internal camera IPs. I would have ruled out remote desktop in any case, it's probably the worst option when you have to deal with videos or even images.Hi,ĭVR can see outside world, and I've setup a specific public address for this DVR. You can still use the iVMS 4200, but obviously you need to make sure that your DVR can see the outside world, VPN or not.
